ENABLING POSSIBILITIES FOUNDATION

The 15th Annual Cincinnati Para-Swimming Open will be held May 12-13, 2018 at the Keating Aquatics Center at University of Cincinnati. The meet was established in 2003 and fifteen years later, it is strengthening the Paralympic Swimming community and continues to be a universal effort with support throughout the Midwest and greater U.S.

In the last several years, swimmers have set 68 records—7 of those were world records, and 16 were American records. The meet serves as the largest non-championship meet for U.S. Paralympics in the United States.

The meet serves to bring many new swimmers into the Paralympic Movement to compete and represent their respective Paralympic teams on the national and international level. This meet is viewed as an important competition for U.S. Paralympics Swimming to recruit the next generation of athletes and invite current national team members to serve as leaders and role models.

The meet is hosted by The Enabling Possibilities Foundation in collaboration with USA Swimming, U.S. Paralympics, University of Cincinnati Keating Aquatics Center staff, community leaders, local companies and sponsors, the media, and the swimming network throughout the Midwest, including high school and summer league programs, the community is invited to participate in our ongoing efforts to support disability sports. More Paralympic athletes are classified at this 2-day swim meet than at any other meet in a given year. More than 20 countries have attended the U.S. Paralympics swim meet in Cincinnati.

The Enabling Possibilities Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2014 by Bill Keating, Jr. to support the annual Cincinnati Para-Swimming Open. Our long-term vision is to expand into multi-sport disciplines that serve adaptive sports programming and athletes with physical and visual disabilities in the Tri-State region.
